• Commodity exchanges MCX and ICEX have cut trading hours to 5.00 pm from March 30 to April 14.
• FM announces relief packages worth 1.7lakh crore to the Poor people.

Takeaways from FM press meet :

• Total package of INR1.7tn focussing on rural/ urban poor (Gareeb kalyan scheme)* Part of that will be in form of cash and other in benefits.
• insurance cover for health workers (asha workers, sanitation department and all workers) – *50lk per person as medical insurance cover (for government hospitals)*
• 80crs of poor people – will get 5kg of rice and wheet (already getting) over and above that *5kg of rice / wheat per month per person will be given for next 3 months for free*. Also will give 1kg of pulse will be given.
• Farmer: 6k annually already received from current scheme. This will be front loaded manner. This will benefit 8.69crs farmers.
• MNREGA : INR182/day ris to INR202/day – will benefit 5crs people
• POOR WIDOWS, PENSIONERS and DISABLED – One time amount of INR1K to be given in 2 installment. This will benefit 3 crs citizens.
• Women having Jan dhan yojna account: 20crs account holders, will be getting *an amount of 500rs per month for next 3 months
• SHG women: will have impact on 7crs household with 63lk SHG. *Under dean dayal yojna they get upto 10lk collateral free loan which will.be double to 20lk (collateral free) now
• Ujwala : 8crs of BPL families were benefitted under this scheme. For this segment they will be given free cylinders for 3 months. This will benefit 8.3crs BPL families.
• Organised sector worker ( through EPFO)* : Two proposal a) provident fund – GOI will pay the EPF contribution for both employer and employee for next 3 months. This will be for all those establishment having 100 employees and 90% of those are having less than INR15k salary b) Amends the regulation that governs the scheme so that workers can draw upto 75% funds or 3 months of salary which is lower (non refundable), this will benefit 4.8crs workers
• construction worker: By a central government act, *there is a fund of INR310bn (3.5crs registered workers)*, intend to give direction to state government to use these funds to protect any disruption.
• utilising district mineral funds:Use the funds for medical, testing and other necessary actions.
