Nifty closed in green for the Forth day. Nifty was up 18.80 points or 0.22% at 8660.25.

Sensex was down 131.18 points or 0.44% at 29815.59.

India VIX falls 0.77% and closed at 70.98.

Among the sectors, Bank Nifty gained 2 percent while auto, media and realty stocks dragged.

New 52Week Lows in NIFTY :

After a month period, today no stocks have hit their 52 Week lows.

DAY HIGHLIGHTS :

  • Tata Motors to hive off passenger vehicles business into a separate unit.
  • RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das announces rate cut.
  • RBI cuts repo rate 75 basis points to 4.40%.

Key Takeaways:

1. Repo rate reduced by 75 basis points to 4.4%
2. Rev repo reduced by 90 basis points to 4%
3. GDP growth for Q4 19-20 and FY 20-21 to be affected
4. Aggregate demand may weaken
5. Future outlook uncertain and negative
6. CRR reduced by 100 basis points to 3% for 1 year to release 1.37 lakh crores
